Hello All

This meeting will be to discuss further progress on the SARC antenna kits.

Here are a few links to some of the items we can use for templates.

Jack W2JAX posted a link to this adjustable loading coil that looks quite interesting.

Bob has a few interesting ideas on his web site. Please enjoy.

Rob VA3RTG listed some useful information regarding the Chameleon antennas. Here is his listing

Regarding the Chameleon antenna, here's their website:
https://chameleonantenna.com/shop-here/ols/products/cha-lefs-4010
Which included a downloadable copy of the user manual:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/5zqnswuudubyl5oj13tik/LEFS-4010-User-Guide-240626.pdf?rlkey=t7pww2ap1uhy4rvljm9n8ioty&st=l5975ffj&dl=0
The manual filled in some gaps in my understanding and answered some questions.

And even better, this website basically tells you how to make it!

Let’s Build an End Fed Half Wave Antenna

The commercial version uses two capacitors, perhaps (2) 50pf's in parallel? Or would the dipole side use a cap? I can't imagine why, though. I also wasn't totally clear about the coax cable. It has some chokes, but shouldn't the dipole side have a balun? I'm guessing that the same cable is used for both the EFHW and dipoles. Still some uncertainty on my end.

It seems like the Chameleon-design EFHW only covers 10m, 15m, 20m, and 40m. I think that the WARC bands are simply dipoles, and there's the obvious option to use dipoles for the legacy bands as well.

And the last thing, I know that you like the hillbilly imation, here's some material to practice that skill!

I will be contacting the Hammond Museum of Radio tomorrow inquiring about a club visit sometime in January.
Further to look at other club events let's investigate a club diner in late January of February.

Please bring your ideas for projects and club activities.

New Repeater:
The new antenna has been installed on the repeater VA3SSL thanks with the assistance of Ian Clarke and Nick VA3NRJ. Please try it out.
145.250 minus 600 and 103.5 for the tone.
There are some adjustments to be done. Please let me know if you are able to connect to the repeater. ,

Please Zoom in on Tuesday.
