This is an opportunity to demonstrate the willingness of the Amateur Radio community to participate in preparedness planning for disaster event communications. Let's get behind this event.
Hello Everyone,
This email has been sent to 15 clubs or members in the Golden Horseshoe Section. Please pass the information on to club members or groups that may be interested in participating.
Members of the Auxiliary Communications Section for the Golden Horseshoe are planning a SET for September 20th 2025.
The geographic location for this simulated emergency test will encompass the GH Section only. The purpose is to observe and report our radios, repeaters, and skills in the event of an area wide emergency. The estimated time is 08:00 to 11:30 a.m., following up with a 30 minute debrief.
Using Voice and Winlink, the scenario will be weather based with the assignment of a specific environment incident to each of the local registered areas.
Those that wish to participate will be asked to attend our next planning meeting on August 22nd via google meet at 19:00 p.m., as well, be able to provide your club COMMS plan if available.

Antenna Day for the fall is tentatively planned for Saturday Oct 4 at our usual Grey Abbey park.
Noreen from the Hammond Museum of Radio suggested late fall as a good time to book a visit.
A car pool and lunch for the Hamilton Amateur Radio Club Ancaster hamfest may be a great way to have some fun together before and after the hamfest.
The Plans are still afoot to have another club melt solder build. The target builds are a QRP manual turner, Clothes reel compact antennas and an end fed balun.
Please join this quick meeting to review these events. A follow up live and zoom meeting will be held the next week to go over these items as well as club membership etc.
