There will be a SARC Zoom meeting tomorrow night at 8:00 and you are
invited to attend. The coordinates will be sent a couple of hours before
the meeting.
There are many things to discuss and your ideas are welcome.
The decision to affiliate the club with RAC will go ahead to obtain the
insurance and other benefits. The RAC membership fee for the club is
27.95 plus HST. Individual annual membership fee is 48.00 for the
electronic version of their magazine. If the club joins their liability
insurance program members who join both SARC and RAC can obtain the
liability insurance 1.25. SARC only members can obtain the insurance for
13.00.
This year we will be having a couple of outdoor even such as an antenna
testing and BBQ event. We should discuss a couple of dates for this get
together.
With a little luck we may have a field day location in Scarborough this
year so we can share ideas on how to have some fun in the contest as a club.
As well the Dayton Hamvention is coming up next month May 20 to 22. I
will be going down. If you plan to go book a room early since the
attendance is expected to be quite large. This the first gathering since
the pandemic and it should be interesting to see what is new in the
world of ham radio.
