MS 2013 walk
I would like to say thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s event, John VE3POJ, Robert VE3VAJ, Benita VA3VAJ, Peter VE3FJI, Ray VE3ZXC, and Joe VE3OV. Special thanks go to Peter VA3PRW for helping and also doing the walk with Rudi VE3OUA who did very well. Just to let everyone know that I had a very great time and the walk was very successful this year and I’m looking forward to next year.

Folks, we have completed a number of sessions so far and the turnout has been excellent. Thanks to all of you that have come out to one of the sessions. The training dates for Northwestern Ontario have been firmed up and can be found below. In addition, a training session has been added in Fort Erie on the evening of Tuesday May 21st. A note to those of you who will be attending either of the upcoming Toronto sessions, there are a number of signs around our building indicating that you now must pay for parking. However, the parking lot is only monitored Monday to Friday during business hours. So for both this Saturday’s training as well as the training next Wednesday, the only area that cannot be parked in is the one designated for the shift workers in the Weather Centre. Also, it would be a good idea to plan to arrive to either of the Toronto sessions a bit early since all participants must enter through the main doors on Dufferin St. and sign-in with the commissionaires in the lobby.
If you do plan on attending an upcoming session and you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so to the email address [email protected]
Once again, thanks for being a part of this worthwhile program…
Regards,
Geoff Coulson

Gordon Gault VE3UFF became a Silent Key on Sunday, April 14, 2013, a few days before his 91st birthday. He was a veteran of World War II (RCAF) and a long-time member of SARC. Gord worked at General Electric for many years, and was also a member of the Toronto Society of Model Engineers and Toronto FM Communications Society.
He was also my neighbour, and the man who introduced me to amateur radio and the club...I'll miss him.
