General Meeting
9 May 2011

This meeting took place at the Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre.

President Ralph Muecke VE3VXY called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.

Field Day Coordinator Asif Ahmed VA3SIF distributed a document outlining the rules and regulations for our upcoming Field Day.

Bob Chrysler VE3IEL will be moving to Peterborough by the end of June. He has been a long time member and contributor to this club and served as president for seven years.

Welcome to Prem Arun VA3UMA.

We have set up an auction section on our club website for donated equipment – all proceeds from sales go to the club. This site is open to club members only, who will have to log in to place bids. Unsold equipment will go to the Ontario Swap Shop.

Ralph VE3VXY presented silver medallions to Stewart Russell VA3PID and Chris Thomson VE3CLT, who recently passed the basic exam with honours.

Chris VE3CLT discussed a screwdriver antenna.
Asif VA3SIF asked question about QSL bureau. Bob VE3IEL, Peter VE3FJI and Nick VE3EBC explained how the outgoing (RAC) and incoming (volunteer) bureaux operate.
Arpad VA3VAD reminded members about upcoming CANWARN training session on May 18 at 7 PM at Environment Canada, 4905 Dufferin St.


Meeting adjourned 9:15 PM. Since May 23 is a holiday, next meeting will be on May 30.
