This meeting took place at the Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre.
President Ralph Muecke VE3VXY/VE3CIW called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Ralph demonstrated a renewable energy kit that includes a fuel cell, solar panel, and wind generator.
Ham-EX went well. Durham Hamfest will be on 16 April and MS Walk the next day.
Ralph is putting together a library of magazines and books including some items from Tony VE3QF(SK).
Ralph has booked the Field Day site at Heber Down Conservation Area in Whitby for Friday/Saturday night. We have to be out by 2 PM on Sunday. Our booking includes up to 40 campers. Dogs must be kept on leash less than 2 meters long. No cars or trailers are permitted to park on the field. Access is via laneway from the end of the road – we will post a gatekeeper who will have a key. Talk-in frequency will be 446.025 simplex.
MS Walk will use VE3TOR repeater.
CANWARN training will be on Saturday 7 May at Environment Canada headquarters.
Nick brought in a power meter with waveguide.
Asif suggested posting meeting location on APRS.
Rudie VE3OUA says Tom VE3BTR sends his regards and hopes to attend Field Day.
65th anniversary party will be held at this location – renting a hall or restaurant is not possible given our budget restrictions.
