Scarborough Amateur Radio Club, Inc.
14 February 2011
Chair: Ralph VE3VXY, President
Ralph VE3VXY called the meeting to order at 7:20 PM.
VE3RPT repeater has been down for almost 2 weeks because of lightning damage. The power supply for the battery system needs replacement, and this is expected to cost $2500 or more. Gord VE3CNA suggested we encourage people to join TFMCS and show their support.
Ralph VE3VXY says TFMCS will be at the hamfests in Brampton and Durham region and is willing to share a table with SARC. We need volunteers to be at the table to hand out pamphlets and promote the club. Durham hamfest has moved to Pickering Recreation Centre.
Greenwood Conservation area charges $3.95 per person per night. We would have to add them as a named insured on our RAC insurance policy. Ray will follow up.
TFMCS has offered us space and frequencies to install our own repeater.
Discussion about antennas for apartment/condo residents.
Meeting adjourned at 8:50 PM.
