General Meeting

May 31, 2010

This meeting took place at the Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre.

Vice-President Ralph Muecke VE3VXY called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Treasurer’s report: As of April 30 we had $2169.54 in the bank.

This is the first of two Field Day discussion meetings.

Ralph has prepared a publicity poster for Field Day.

Once again we are in the Open Acres site at Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area. There is no longer a side gate on Warden Avenue so we have to go through the main gate on Stouffville Road.

Rod VE3SOY has prepared a tentative band plan – 8A + GOTA.

Talk-in frequency: 146.520 simplex (will also monitor VE3RPT).

Generators: Luc VA3LMS, Rod VE3SOY, Nick VE3EBC

Bert VE3OBU/Mike VE3GFN will be operating CW and will monitor for the W1AW bulletin.

Break: raffle took in $19. Collected $28.10 for the repeater fund.

Announcement from Rod VE3SOY:

Thomas VA3TSE will be on a mountain top in Germany and operating PSK31. He will try to contact us during Field Day (schedule to be announced).

Rudie VE3OUA volunteered to sit at the welcome table and hand out flyers.

Bernadine to follow up with local media (Mirror and Snap).

Insurance: We are covered up to December 31 (including non-RAC members).

Repeater discussion: Luc has frequencies for 6m and 10m. Repeater meeting to be announced.

Show and tell: Nick brought in a spectrum analyzer
